Equipment

  • skillet
  • paper towels
  • Medium bowl

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 1 cup of Bisquick baking mix
  • 4 large eggs
  • 12 strips of bacon crisped, drained, and crumbled
  • 1 cup of shredded Swiss cheese approximately 4 ounces
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat Your Oven

  • Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). While it heats up, grease a 9-inch pie plate.

Step 2: Cook the Bacon

  • Fry the bacon in a skillet until crispy. Drain on paper towels and crumble it into small pieces.

Step 3: Mix Wet Ingredients

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the whole milk and eggs until fully combined.

Step 4: Combine Dry Ingredients

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the Bisquick baking mix, sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.

Step 5: Blend Everything Together

  • Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Add the crumbled bacon, cheese, and onion. Mix well.

Step 6: Pour and Bake

  • Pour the mixture into the greased pie plate. Slide it into the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the center is just set.

Step 7: Cool and Serve

  • Let the quiche cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Use Fresh Ingredients: Always opt for fresh bacon and cheese. It makes a world of difference.
  • Avoid Over-Mixing: Too much stirring can make the quiche dense.
  • Check for Doneness: Jiggly centers mean more time in the oven.
  • Reheat Gently: Use the microwave in short bursts or warm in the oven.
  • Season to Taste: Adjust spices based on personal preference.
