Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • plastic wrap

Ingredients

  • 2 packages of luxurious cream cheese gracefully softened
  • 1/4 cup of freshly picked and finely chopped cilantro leaves
  • 12 ounces of plump ruby-red cranberries
  • 1 tablespoon of zesty lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup of crisp green onions thinly sliced
  • 2 jalapeno peppers finely diced for a hint of controlled heat
  • 1/4 cup of pure fine-grained granulated sugar
  • A dash of sea salt

Instructions

Prepare Cream Cheese:

  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easy blending.

Chop Ingredients:

  • Finely chop the fresh cilantro, green onions, and jalapeno peppers. Set aside.

Prepare Cranberries:

  • If using fresh cranberries, rinse them thoroughly. If using frozen cranberries, make sure they are thawed.

Blend Cream Cheese:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese. Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to blend until smooth and creamy.

Add Lemon Juice:

  • Squeeze the lemon to get freshly squeezed lemon juice. Add the lemon juice to the cream cheese mixture and blend again.

Add Sugar and Salt:

  • Incorporate granulated sugar and salt into the cream cheese mixture. Mix until the sugar is dissolved.

Add Chopped Ingredients:

  • Add the finely chopped cilantro, green onions, and deseeded jalapeno peppers to the mixture. Blend until well combined.

Add Cranberries:

  • Gently fold the fresh or thawed cranberries into the mixture. Ensure they are evenly distributed.

Refrigerate:

  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the dip for at least 2 hours or until it is well-chilled. Chilling allows the flavors to meld.

Taste and Adjust:

  • Before serving, taste the dip and adjust the seasoning if needed. Add more sugar or salt according to your preference.

Serve:

  • Transfer the cranberry jalapeno dip to a serving bowl.

Garnish (Optional):

  • Garnish the top with additional chopped cilantro or a few whole cranberries for presentation.

Serve and Enjoy:

  • Serve the Costco-inspired Cranberry Jalapeno Dip with your favorite crackers, tortilla chips, or vegetable sticks. It’s a delightful blend of sweet, tangy, and spicy flavors that will be a hit at any gathering.
