Equipment

  • bowl
  • Fork or Knife
  • Citrus Juicer
  • Brush, etc.

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds of Ocean-Harvested Fresh Octopus ranging from baby to large, carefully chosen for optimal tenderness
  • 4 Garlic Cloves artfully sliced into flavorful gems, releasing their aromatic dance
  • Olive Oil a drizzle of Extra Virgin Elegance for a touch of Mediterranean richness
  • 1 teaspoon of Sun-Dried Oregano adding a hint of Mediterranean warmth
  • Juice from 2 Sun-Kissed Lemons freshly squeezed for a citrusy embrace
  • Salt and Pepper a pinch of Sea Salt Crystals and Freshly Ground Pepper, perfectly balanced to taste
  • 4 teaspoons of Handpicked Fresh Parsley finely chopped for a burst of herbal freshness and visual appeal

Instructions

1.Prepare the Fresh Octopus:

  • Rinse the ocean-harvested fresh octopus under cold water. Remove any excess water and pat it dry with paper towels.

2.Preheat the Grill:

  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Ensure the grates are clean and lightly oiled.

3.Marinate with Garlic and Olive Oil:

  • In a bowl, mix the sliced garlic cloves, a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, and sun-dried oregano to create a flavorful marinade.

4.Coat the Octopus:

  • Brush the fresh octopus with the garlic and olive oil marinade, ensuring even coverage. This not only imparts Mediterranean flavors but also helps prevent sticking on the grill.

5.Season with Salt and Pepper:

  • Season the octopus with a pinch of sea salt crystals and freshly ground pepper. Adjust the seasoning to your taste.

6.Grill the Octopus:

  • Place the octopus on the preheated grill. Grill for approximately 3-4 minutes per side, or until the tentacles show grill marks and the flesh is cooked through. Be cautious not to overcook to maintain tenderness.

7.Baste with Lemon Juice:

  • While grilling, baste the octopus with freshly squeezed lemon juice. This adds a refreshing citrusy touch to the dish.

8.Check for Doneness:

  • Confirm the octopus is cooked by inserting a fork or knife into the thickest part. It should penetrate easily without resistance.

9.Garnish with Fresh Parsley:

  • Sprinkle finely chopped fresh parsley over the grilled octopus for a burst of herbal freshness and an appealing visual touch.

10.Serve Hot:

  • Transfer the grilled octopus to a serving platter. Serve it hot, either as an enticing appetizer or a delightful main course.

11.Enjoy the Costco-Style Delight:

  • Gather around and relish the succulent, tender bites of ocean-harvested fresh octopus, enhanced by the flavorful blend of garlic, olive oil, lemon, and Mediterranean herbs.

Notes

• If you are using frozen octopus, make sure to thaw it completely before adding it to the baking dish.
• If you want to add more flavor to the dish, try adding some red pepper flakes or a small diced jalapeno pepper.
• If you find that the octopus is still too chewy after baking, try simmering it in the sauce for a few minutes before serving.
• For a vegan version of the recipe, omit the chicken broth and use vegetable broth instead.
• If you’d like to add more vegetables to the dish, try adding some sliced mushrooms or zucchini.
• To give the dish a nice smoky flavor, try adding a few drops of liquid smoke to the sauce.
