Ingredients

  • 6 cups All-purpose flour
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 cup Dried oranges and cranberries
  • 2 Tablespoon Grated orange peel
  • 1 cup Butter room temperature
  • 6 tsp Baking powder
  • 0.5 Tablespoon Fine salt
  • 1.5 cup Cold milk
  • 0.5 cup Granulated sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, eggs, dried oranges and cranberries, grated orange peel, butter, baking powder, salt, milk, and sugar. Mix until well combined.
  • On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1-inch thickness.
  • Use a biscuit cutter or cookie cutter to cut out circles from the dough.
  • Place the circles onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Once done, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • If using frozen cranberries, make sure to thaw them before using in the recipe.
  • Add a little more sugar if the recipe is not sweet enough
  • Make sure to stir the mixture constantly to avoid burning.
  • For a more intense orange flavor, add a couple of tablespoons of orange juice to the batter.
  • You can substitute fresh cranberries with frozen cranberries if they are not in season.
  • If you prefer a sweeter bisconie, you can increase the amount of sugar in the recipe.
  • Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat.
