Equipment

  • Pie-holding round tray
  • Measuring Cup

Ingredients

  • 6 Eggs at Room Temperature
  • 3 Cup granulated Sugar
  • 1 Cup Cocoa powder
  • 4 Tablespoon All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Cup Evaporated Milk
  • 10 Tablespoon Soft Butter
  • 2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • Whipped Cream

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs until well combined and slightly frothy.
  • Gradually add in the sugar, cocoa powder, flour, and salt, mixing until fully incorporated.
  • Add in the evaporated milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract, stirring until the filling is smooth and well combined.
  • Pour the filling into a prepared pie crust and place in the preheated oven.
  • Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly firm to touch.
  • Let cool before serving with whipped cream on top.

Notes

• If you prefer a more firm crust, you can bake the pie for an extra 5 minutes.
• To add a bit of crunch to the pie, try adding some chopped nuts or chocolate chips to the filling.
• To make a vegan version of this pie, substitute non-dairy margarine for the butter and non-dairy chocolate chips for the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
• You can also try using different types of chocolate in the filling, such as dark chocolate or white chocolate.
• To make the crust flakier, you can replace half of the butter with shortening.
