Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoon Unprocessed cocoa powder
  • 2.5 cup Evaporated milk
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 4 Star anise
  • 2 Cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the evaporated milk, sugar, star anise, and cinnamon sticks. Heat on medium heat until it starts to simmer.
  • Once simmering, reduce the heat to low and let it steep for about 5 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder and salt until well combined.
  • Slowly add the cocoa mixture to the saucepan, stirring constantly until fully incorporated and smooth.
  • Continue heating on low for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
