Ingredients

  • Here’s the magic potion:
  • – 2 ripe mangoes
  • – 1 cup kefir
  • – 1 tablespoon honey optional
  • – Cardamom powder optional
  • – 6 ice cubes

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Mangoes

  • First things first, peel those ripe beauties. Chop them up into chunks. Ensure no stone is left unturned – or should I say no chunk is left un-chopped! I usually devour the leftover bits, but you do you.

Step 2: Blend the Base

  • In your blender, combine the mango chunks and kefir. Start blending until things are getting smooth but not quite there yet.

Step 3: Add Honey and Cardamom

  • If you’re using honey, drizzle it in at this stage along with a pinch of cardamom powder. Blend again, but this time until everything looks like a creamy gold.

Step 4: Cool it Down

  • Throw in the ice cubes. Now blend until it’s smooth as silk. The cubes add that cool refreshing touch which is especially delightful on a hot day.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy

  • Pour the smoothie into a tall glass. I sometimes like to garnish with a dash more cardamom or a mint leaf. Sip and sigh in contentment.

Notes

Mangoes: Mangoes are rich in vitamins A, C, and other antioxidants that boost immunity and improve skin health. They’re also fiber-rich, aiding in digestion.
Kefir: This cultured dairy product is teeming with probiotics, proteins, and essential minerals. It’s also low in lactose compared to regular milk, making it easier on the tummy for those lactose-sensitive folks out there.
Honey: Apart from its delectable sweetness, honey is an excellent source of antioxidants and has antibacterial qualities.
Cardamom: This spice isn’t just for flavor. It can aid in digestion, fight inflammation, and has been known to have antimicrobial properties.
