Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/6 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 fresh poblano pepper
  • 1/2 freshly minced jalapeno pepper
  • 3/4 pounds fresh and ripe tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup diced white onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.13 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 0.13 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Start by preheating a skillet over medium heat and adding in water, cilantro, poblano pepper, and jalapeno pepper. Cook for 5 minutes until soft.
  • Add in the diced tomatoes, onion, celery salt, oregano, garlic salt, sugar, and black pepper. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
  • Let the mixture cook for another 10 minutes until all flavors have melded together.
  • Once cooked, remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
  • Using a blender or food processor, blend the salsa until it reaches your desired consistency.
  • Serve immediately with chips, tacos, or any other dish of your choice. Enjoy!

Notes

– Be sure to taste the salsa before serving to adjust the seasoning as needed.
– If you don’t have a food processor or blender, you can chop the ingredients by hand and mix them together in a bowl.
– If you want a milder salsa, feel free to reduce the amount of jalapeños.
– If you want a spicier salsa, feel free to add more jalapeños.
– If you don’t have fresh tomatoes, you can use canned tomatoes instead.
– You can also add other ingredients, such as bell peppers, corn, and black beans, if desired.
