Ingredients

For the Apple Pies:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry store-bought or homemade – flaky and buttery, creating a delightful pastry shell
  • Vegetable oil for frying – for a crispy and golden exterior

For the Filling:

  • 2 large apples – crisp and sweet providing a juicy and flavorful center
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch or cornflour- helps thicken the filling for a perfect consistency
  • 1/4 cup raw cane sugar – imparts a natural sweetness to the filling
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin spice – a warm and aromatic blend for a cozy flavor
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter or margarine – adds a rich and indulgent taste

For the Topping:

  • 1/2 cup Cinnamon Sugar – a sweet and aromatic blend adding a fragrant layer of warmth

Instructions

  • Begin by peeling and slicing the apples into thin slices.
  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples with cinnamon sugar, raw cane sugar, cornstarch, and pumpkin spice. Mix well until all the apples are coated in the mixture.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into 14 equal squares.
  • Place a heaping spoonful of the apple mixture onto one half of each square, leaving some space around the edges to seal the pie.
  • Fold over the other half of the puff pastry and use a fork to press down on the edges to seal it shut.
  • Heat up vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the pies into the oil and fry until golden brown on both sides.
  • Remove from the oil and let them cool down on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream for a delicious dessert!
