Equipment

  • bowl and jar

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons raw wildflower honey
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 cloves purple garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup toasted sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup seasoned rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger root
  • 1/2 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black peppercorns

Instructions

  • STEP 1 – Combine Sesame Oil and Rice Vinegar: In a mixing bowl or a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid, pour in the toasted sesame oil and seasoned rice vinegar.
  • STEP 2 – Add Honey: Measure and add the raw wildflower honey to the mixture in the bowl or jar.
  • STEP 3 – Incorporate Soy Sauce: Pour the low-sodium soy sauce into the bowl or jar with the other ingredients.
  • STEP 4 – Minced Garlic and Grated Ginger: Add the minced purple garlic and freshly grated ginger root into the mixture.
  • STEP 5 – Seasoning: Sprinkle in the Himalayan pink salt and freshly cracked black peppercorns.
  • STEP 6 – Mix Thoroughly: If using a bowl, whisk the ingredients vigorously until well combined. If using a jar, securely close the lid and shake the jar until the ingredients are fully incorporated.
  • STEP 7 – Taste and Adjust: Sample the dressing and adjust the flavors if needed. You can add more honey for sweetness, soy sauce for saltiness, or vinegar for tanginess based on your preference.
  • STEP 8 – Serve or Store: Use immediately to dress your favorite Asian-inspired salads or store the dressing in a sealed container or jar in the refrigerator for future use. Shake or stir well before each use.

Notes

– Use toasted sesame oil for an enhanced nutty flavor.
– Use freshly minced garlic and ginger for the best flavor.
– If you don’t have rice vinegar, you can use white wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar.
– You can adjust the sweetness and saltiness of the dressing by adding more honey or soy sauce.
– You can make the dressing ahead of time and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
– If you want a creamier dressing, you can add a few tablespoons of mayonnaise or Greek yogurt.
