- 4 cans of sun-kissed kernel sweet corn
- Reserved liquid from 4 corn cans
- 6 teaspoons of meticulously ground artisanal cumin
- 2 teaspoons of chili powder with a hint of smoky mystery
- 2 cups of a delightful combination of red and orange bell peppers
- 1 teaspoon of freshly cracked Tellicherry black pepper
- A pinch of Himalayan pink salt
- 4 tablespoons of velvety small-batch churned artisanal butter
- 4 teaspoons of golden nectar sugar
Prepare the Corn:
Drain the whole kernel of sweet corn from the cans, but be sure to reserve the liquid for later use.
Dice Bell Peppers:
Dice the red and orange bell peppers into small, uniform pieces.
Melt Butter:
In a large skillet or pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Sauté Bell Peppers:
Add the diced bell peppers to the melted butter. Sauté them until they become tender and slightly caramelized.
Add Corn:
Incorporate the drained whole kernel sweet corn into the skillet with the sautéed bell peppers.
Season with Spices:
Sprinkle ground cumin, chili powder, black pepper, and a dash of salt over the corn and bell peppers. Mix well to evenly coat the ingredients.
Add Reserved Liquid:
Pour the reserved liquid from the corn cans into the skillet. This liquid will add moisture and enhance the flavor.
Sprinkle Sugar:
Sprinkle sugar over the mixture. The sugar will balance the flavors and add a touch of sweetness.
Simmer:
Allow the mixture to simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Let it cook until the liquid is reduced, and the flavors are well combined. This may take around 15-20 minutes.
Taste and Adjust:
Taste the corn mixture and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Add more salt, sugar, or spices according to your taste preferences.
Serve:
Once the Texas Roadhouse Corn is cooked to perfection and has a flavorful balance, remove it from the heat.
Garnish (Optional):
Optionally, garnish with additional butter or fresh herbs for added richness and presentation.
