Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp Premium Baking Powder
  • 1/4 cup Organic Cane Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Finely Ground Ube Powder
  • 1/2 cup Sifted Organic All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup Creamy Handcrafted Butter melted

Instructions

Prepare Ingredients

  • Sifting Flour: Measure and sift 1/2 cup of organic all-purpose flour to ensure a smooth and fine texture.
  • Melt Butter: Take 1/4 cup of creamy handcrafted butter and melt it. You can do this by gently heating the butter until it becomes liquid.
  • Prepare Ube Powder: Grind ube into a fine powder using a food processor or grinder until it reaches a finely ground consistency.

Mixing and Preparing the Polvoron Mixture:

  • Combine Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the sifted organic all-purpose flour, organic cane sugar, premium baking powder, and finely ground ube powder. Mix these dry ingredients well.
  • Incorporate Melted Butter: Gradually pour the melted creamy handcrafted butter into the dry ingredient mixture. Use a spatula or spoon to combine until a crumbly dough forms.

Shaping and Molding Polvoron:

  • Shaping the Mixture: Take a portion of the dough mixture and press it into a polvoron mold or shape it into small, compacted round shapes by hand.
  • Molding Polvoron Shapes: Carefully press the dough into the mold, ensuring it fills the mold evenly. If shaping by hand, press and mold the mixture into small, bite-sized pieces or oval-shaped discs.
  • Refrigerate for Firmness: Place the molded polvoron on a tray lined with parchment paper and refrigerate them for about 30 minutes. This will help them firm up and hold their shape.

Storing and Serving:

  • Wrap and Store: Once firm, carefully remove the polvoron from the molds and wrap them individually in colorful cellophane or wax paper.
  • Store Properly: Store the wrapped polvoron in an airtight container to maintain freshness.

Notes

• Use a high-quality ube powder for the best flavor.
• If the mixture is too dry, add a tablespoon of melted butter at a time until it comes together.
• For a softer texture, bake the ube polvoron for less time.
• For a crunchier texture, bake the ube polvoron for more time.
• For a sweeter flavor, add more sugar.
• For a saltier flavor, add more salt.
