Ingredients

  • Pickles
  • Mayonnaise
  • Dill
  • Pepper
  • Onion
  • Lemon
  • Sugar

Instructions

  • Start by finely dicing about 1/4 cup of pickles and adding them to a small mixing bowl.
  • Next, add 1/4 cup of mayonnaise to the mixing bowl with the pickles.
  • Finely chop about 1 tablespoon of dill and add it to the bowl.
  • Add a pinch of black pepper, 1 tablespoon of finely chopped onion, juice from half a lemon, and 1/2 teaspoon of sugar to the bowl.
  • Mix all the ingredients together until well combined.
  • Taste and adjust any seasonings, adding more dill, pepper, or sugar as desired.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to use.

Notes

– Be sure to adjust the seasonings to your taste.
– You can substitute dill pickle relish for the sweet pickle relish if desired.
– You can add other seasonings, such as garlic powder or paprika, to the tartar sauce if desired.
– This tartar sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
– You can adjust the amount of mayonnaise to make the tartar sauce thicker or thinner.
