- 4 cups fresh broccoli florets vibrant green and crisp, ready to be transformed into a delightful dish
- 1/4 cup pure refreshing water to steam and preserve the natural goodness of the broccoli
- 4 cloves of garlic finely chopped, releasing their aromatic essence to infuse the dish with savory flavor
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil a luscious and golden elixir to impart a touch of richness and depth
- Salt carefully measured, to elevate the flavors, and pepper, freshly ground, to add a subtle kick, creating a harmonious balance
Prepare the ingredients by washing and chopping the broccoli florets, finely chopping the garlic cloves, and measuring out all other ingredients.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add the chopped garlic and cook for about a minute until fragrant.
Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and stir to coat with oil and garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Pour in the water, cover the skillet, and let it steam for 3-4 minutes.
Remove the cover and continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender but still vibrant green.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve hot as a side dish or add it to your favorite pasta or rice dish. Enjoy!
– Make sure to spread the broccoli out evenly on the baking sheet. This will help to ensure that the broccoli cooks evenly.
– If you want the broccoli to be extra crispy, you can broil it for 2-3 minutes at the end of cooking.
– To make the dish vegan, simply omit the butter and Parmesan cheese, and use olive oil instead.
– If you want to add some extra flavor, you can sprinkle some dried herbs or red pepper flakes over the broccoli before baking.
– You can also add some cooked bacon or diced tomatoes to the broccoli before baking.
– If you want to add some extra protein to the dish, you can add cooked chicken or shrimp.
