24
ounces
of candy melts or chocolate chips
1
cup
softened cream cheese
Decorative sprinkles or toppings
optional
8
Lollipop sticks or paper straws
Instructions
Crumble the prepared cake into a large mixing bowl.
Soften the cream cheese in the microwave for 15 seconds, then add it to the crumbled cake.
Mix together until well combined and a dough-like consistency forms.
Use a small cookie scoop or spoon to form even sized balls of the cake mixture.
Roll each ball between your hands to smooth out any cracks or imperfections.
Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for 15-20 minutes.
While the cake pops are freezing, melt the chocolate chips or candy melts according to package instructions.
Remove the cake pops from the freezer and insert a lollipop stick or paper straw into each ball.
Dip each cake pop into the melted chocolate, making sure to coat it completely.
Add decorative sprinkles or toppings, if desired, before the chocolate hardens.
Place the finished cake pops back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet and allow the chocolate to harden completely.
Once hardened, your cake pops are ready to enjoy!
Notes
Make sure to use a sturdy stick or straw to hold the weight of the cake pop and chocolate.
You can use any flavor of cake and chocolate for this recipe. Get creative and try different combinations!
If you don’t have cream cheese, you can substitute with softened butter or a nut butter of your choice.
For added protein, try adding some crushed nuts or seeds to the cake mixture before forming into balls.
