Equipment

  • bowl
  • baking sheet

Ingredients

  • 6 cloves of freshly minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of Himalayan pink salt
  • 2 pounds of premium ground beef
  • 1 pound of seasoned ground pork
  • 1 cup of finely chopped sweet onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground black peppercorns
  • 2 cans 15 ounces each of organic tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup of chopped Italian flat-leaf parsley

Instructions

  • STEP 1 – Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it with oil to prevent sticking.
  • STEP 2 – Mix the Meat: In a large mixing bowl, combine the premium ground beef and seasoned ground pork. Use your hands to mix them together thoroughly.
  • STEP 3 – Add Aromatics: Incorporate the finely chopped sweet onion and freshly minced garlic into the meat mixture. Mix until they are evenly distributed.
  • STEP 5 – Seasoning: Sprinkle the Himalayan pink salt and freshly ground black peppercorns over the meat mixture. Mix well to ensure the seasoning is evenly distributed throughout the meat.
  • STEP 6 – Shape Meatballs: With clean hands, take portions of the meat mixture and roll them into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place the formed meatballs onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a bit of space between each one.
  • STEP 7 – Bake: Put the baking sheet with the meatballs into the preheated oven. Bake for approximately 25-30 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through and browned on the outside.
  • STEP 8 – Prepare Sauce: While the meatballs are baking, pour the organic tomato sauce into a large saucepan. Heat it over medium-low heat, allowing it to warm through.
  • STEP 9 – Combine Meatballs and Sauce: Once the meatballs are done, carefully transfer them into the saucepan with the warm tomato sauce. Gently stir to coat the meatballs with the sauce.
  • STEP 10 – Simmer: Allow the meatballs to simmer in the sauce for an additional 10-15 minutes on low heat. This helps the flavors meld together.
  • STEP 11 – Serve: Once the meatballs have simmered and absorbed some of the sauce’s flavors, sprinkle chopped Italian flat-leaf parsley over the top as a garnish. Serve the meatballs and sauce hot over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread for a delightful meal!

Notes

• For extra flavor, add some red pepper flakes to the tomato sauce.
• If you’re short on time, you can use pre-made meatballs instead of making your own.
• If you’re looking for a low-carb option, substitute the breadcrumbs for almond flour.
• You can use any type of ground beef you like, but 80/20 ground beef has the best flavor.
• For a vegan option, you can substitute the ground beef with vegan ground beef.
• If you don’t have Italian seasoning, you can substitute with a combination of oregano, basil, thyme, and rosemary.
