Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 chopped onion
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • 2 thinly chopped celery stalk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup tomato sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, and olive oil.
  • In a separate pan, sauté the onions and celery until soft and translucent.
  • Add the cooked onion and celery to the meat mixture in the bowl.
  • Season with garlic powder, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese. Mix all ingredients well.
  • Transfer the meat mixture to a large loaf pan and pat it down evenly.
  • Pour tomato sauce over the top of the meatloaf.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until fully cooked through.
  • Let the meatloaf cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

– Make sure to use lean ground beef in this recipe for the best results.
– Feel free to customize this recipe by adding other vegetables such as carrots or mushrooms.
– If the meatloaf begins to brown too quickly, cover it with foil for the last few minutes of baking time.
