1-2lbuncooked Spaghetti for Pasta base
6tbspSalt For pasta seasoning
Instructions
STEP 1 – Preparation:
Finely chop the celery, onion, garlic, and carrot. Keep them separate.
In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
Add onion, celery, and carrot. Sauté until softened.
Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
Remove vegetables from the pot and set them aside.
STEP 2 – Meat Browning:
In the same pot, add a bit more olive oil if needed.
Brown the ground veal, beef, and pork together until cooked through.
Drain excess fat if necessary.
STEP 3 – Combining Ingredients:
Add the sautéed vegetables back into the pot with the browned meat.
Pour in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, and red wine.
Season with black pepper, cloves, nutmeg, and salt. Stir well.
STEP 4 – Simmering:
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low.
Let it simmer, uncovered, for at least 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally. The longer it simmers, the richer the flavors.
STEP 5 – Pasta Preparation:
In a separate large pot, bring water to a boil.
Add salt and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
Drain the pasta and set it aside.
STEP 6 – Finishing Touches:
Once the Bolognese sauce has simmered and thickened, stir in the heavy whipping cream.
Let it simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes.
STEP 7 – Serving:
Serve the Bolognese sauce over the cooked spaghetti.
Garnish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
