Ingredients

  • 2 lb delicately tender veal
  • 2 lb classic ground beef
  • 2 Stick crisp fresh celery
  • 3/2 cup Intense Concentrated, robust tomato paste
  • 2 Medium white aromatically pleasing onion
  • 2 lb ground flavorful pork
  • 6 cloves aromatic flavorful garlic
  • 2 Sweet vibrant carrot
  • 2 Can 56 oz Crushed Rich, sun-ripened tomatoes
  • 4 cup full-bodied red wine
  • 2 cup beef hearty homemade broth
  • 1 tsp zesty black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp ground fragrant earthy cloves
  • 2 tsp essential seasoning salt
  • 12 quarts water For cooking purposes
  • 2 tbsp Subtly flavored olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp ground Warm aromatic nutmeg
  • 1 cup Heavy whipping Cream for Luxuriously creamy richness
  • 1-2 lb uncooked Spaghetti for Pasta base
  • 6 tbsp Salt For pasta seasoning

Instructions

STEP 1 – Preparation:

  • Finely chop the celery, onion, garlic, and carrot. Keep them separate.
  • In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add onion, celery, and carrot. Sauté until softened.
  • Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
  • Remove vegetables from the pot and set them aside.

STEP 2 – Meat Browning:

  • In the same pot, add a bit more olive oil if needed.
  • Brown the ground veal, beef, and pork together until cooked through.
  • Drain excess fat if necessary.

STEP 3 – Combining Ingredients:

  • Add the sautéed vegetables back into the pot with the browned meat.
  • Pour in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, and red wine.
  • Season with black pepper, cloves, nutmeg, and salt. Stir well.

STEP 4 – Simmering:

  • Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low.
  • Let it simmer, uncovered, for at least 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally. The longer it simmers, the richer the flavors.

STEP 5 – Pasta Preparation:

  • In a separate large pot, bring water to a boil.
  • Add salt and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
  • Drain the pasta and set it aside.

STEP 6 – Finishing Touches:

  • Once the Bolognese sauce has simmered and thickened, stir in the heavy whipping cream.
  • Let it simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes.

STEP 7 – Serving:

  • Serve the Bolognese sauce over the cooked spaghetti.
  • Garnish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
