Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • 12 tbsp Pure Honey
  • 3 Cups Flour
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 4 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 Cup buttermilk or whole milk
  • 4 tbsp Butter Melted
  • 2 tsp Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 2 tsp Kosher Salt

Instructions

Activate the Yeast:

  • In a small bowl, combine the active dry yeast with 1 cup of warm water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

Prepare Wet Ingredients:

  • In a separate large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, pure honey, and olive oil. Mix well until the ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.

Add Eggs and Buttermilk:

  • Add the four large eggs to the wet ingredients and mix until smooth. Then, gradually add the buttermilk (or whole milk) while continuing to mix.

Incorporate Melted Butter:

  • Pour the melted butter into the mixture and blend until it’s well combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients:

  • In another large bowl, sift the 00 flour. Gradually add the flour to the wet mixture, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.

Knead the Dough:

  • Once the dough starts to come together, transfer it onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Let the Dough Rise:

  • Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for approximately 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.

Punch Down and Shape:

  • After the first rise, punch down the dough and divide it into desired portions. Shape each portion into a loaf or desired bread shape.

Second Rise:

  • Place the shaped dough onto greased baking pans and let it rise again for about 30-60 minutes, or until it doubles in size.

Preheat and Bake:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Once the dough has risen again, bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
