Summer is here and it’s time to break out the blender and whip up some tasty drinks! Kale tonic is a great way to get a healthy drink without all the sugar and other ingredients that can come with regular beverages.
Wash and chop the kale, apple, cucumber, and lemon.
In a blender, add the chopped kale and 1 cup of water. Blend until smooth.
Add in the chopped apple, cucumber, lemon juice, and ice cubes. Blend again until everything is well combined.
Taste the mixture and adjust accordingly if you want to add more sweetness or tanginess.
Pour into glasses and serve immediately with a slice of lemon on top.
Notes
– If you find that the drink is too thick, add a few tablespoons of water to thin it out.– To add a hint of sweetness to the drink, add a touch of agave or maple syrup.– To add a bit of spice to the drink, add a pinch of ground ginger or cayenne pepper.– If you don’t have fresh kale, you can use frozen kale that has been thawed.– If you don’t have honey, you can use maple syrup or agave syrup instead.– To add an extra burst of flavor, add a few slices of fresh lemon to the drink.
