Summer is here and it’s time to break out the blender and whip up some tasty drinks! Kale tonic is a great way to get a healthy drink without all the sugar and other ingredients that can come with regular beverages.

Equipment

  • Measuring spoons and cups

Ingredients

  • 4 cups kale
  • 2 cup water
  • 2 pc. Fuji apple
  • 2 pc. chopped cucumber
  • 2 pc. peeled lemon
  • 10 pcs. ice cubes

Instructions

  • Gather all your ingredients and equipment.
  • Wash and chop the kale, apple, cucumber, and lemon.
  • In a blender, add the chopped kale and 1 cup of water. Blend until smooth.
  • Add in the chopped apple, cucumber, lemon juice, and ice cubes. Blend again until everything is well combined.
  • Taste the mixture and adjust accordingly if you want to add more sweetness or tanginess.
  • Pour into glasses and serve immediately with a slice of lemon on top.

Notes

– If you find that the drink is too thick, add a few tablespoons of water to thin it out.
– To add a hint of sweetness to the drink, add a touch of agave or maple syrup.
– To add a bit of spice to the drink, add a pinch of ground ginger or cayenne pepper.
– If you don’t have fresh kale, you can use frozen kale that has been thawed.
– If you don’t have honey, you can use maple syrup or agave syrup instead.
– To add an extra burst of flavor, add a few slices of fresh lemon to the drink.
