- 1/2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1.5 cups oysters liquid reserved
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1.5 large eggs beaten
- 4 cups dry bread crumbs
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
Combine Oysters with Mixture:
Prepare Liquid Mixture:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the beaten eggs, reserved oyster liquid, salt, poultry seasoning, dried thyme, and ground black pepper.
Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures:
– Make sure to dice the vegetables into small pieces so that they cook evenly.
– If the dressing is too thick, add a little more white wine to thin it out.
– You can also use other vegetables or herbs and spices to customize the flavor of the dressing.
– Use freshly-shucked oysters for the best flavor.
– If you want to add a bit of heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the dressing.
– Store the dressing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
