Making soy garlic chicken wings is incredibly easy. Here’s how to do it:
Combine the marinade ingredients in a large bowl or zip-top bag and add the chicken wings. Marinate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C) and prepare a wire rack on top of a baking sheet by lightly coating it with olive oil or pan spray.
Remove the wings from the marinade, shake off any excess liquid, and place them on the prepared wire rack. Bake for 40 minutes, turning halfway through.
While the wings are baking, make the soy garlic sauce by melting the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant. In a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of water to create a slurry. Add the slurry to the pan along with honey and soy sauce, and cook until thickened.
Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven and brush them with the soy garlic sauce. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.
Serve the wings hot and enjoy!
Here are a few tips to help you make the perfect soy-garlic chicken wings:
- Use a good quality soy sauce for the best flavor.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of garlic and ginger to your taste.
- If you like your chicken wings extra spicy, add some red pepper flakes or Sriracha sauce.
- If you want a bit of sweetness, add a bit of brown sugar to the marinade.
- If you’re looking for a gluten-free option, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
- If you’re looking for a vegan option, use tofu instead of chicken.
